During around 5, 6 months a year I am teaching.
February until beginning of April, the focus is on “Recognition in the Visual Arts“. Why are certain artists extremely celebrated? Is it because they are extraordinarily gifted? What else plays a role in the making of the most recognized artists such as Warhol, Picasso, Beuys, Lichtenstein, Kiefer, Matisse…?
From November until end January it is all about statistics. Quite fascinating what we can find out by using statistics… Do female and male artists differ in the number of their exhibitions? How different is the income they are generating? What factors might predict artist recognition?
